Giovanni Gambasin

  • Self-taught Surrealist painter.
In his ambitious youthful quest, in his always unfinished attempt to give an answer to the great themes of life, he came across a painting by Salvador Dali “Giraffes in flames”, which inspired him and showed him a path, that of surrealism, which he did not know.

For Gambasin a painting is like a book, a painting tells a quest, it tells a reflection, it tells a story. In fact, his paintings need to be ‘read’. The dominant theme of his ‘story-paintings’ is undoubtedly the opposition between life and dream.
