Katheryn Méndez Soto, artistically known as Ktryn Méndez, is a self-taught visual artist from Arauca, Colombia. Her artistic journey began in high school, igniting an enduring passion for textures and colors. Katheryn has become known as "the texture girl," merging sculptural and pictorial elements in her work.
Her current focus includes repurposing materials and incorporating crystals, fine gemstones, and sequins, bringing life and vitality to her harmonious creations. Inspired by the likes of Jeff Koons and Yayoi Kusama, she weaves her life experiences with deep influences from psychoanalysis and philosophy, inviting audiences into a sensory universe where touch and sight merge into a singular experience.
Her work creates contrasts between the delicate and the robust, eliciting human emotions and personal reflection. She has exhibited in shows such as "ART UNITES US" at Casa Museo Grau in Bogotá, "A WORLD OF COLORS" in Medellín, and "THE AWAKENING OF CONSCIOUSNESS" in Costa Rica, with prominent displays in U.S. galleries. With education as her beacon, Ktryn aims to continue her artistic development, share her art globally, and support social and personal causes through her creations.
From her studio in Bogotá, she continues to craft her artistic narrative, inviting the public to experience joy, tranquility, and critical thought through her captivating works.
