Iwa Kruczkowska-Król was born in Zabrze, in the southern part of Poland. She graduated with first-class honours from the painting studio of Professor Jacek Waltoś, along with an annex in artistic tapestry under the guidance of Professor Lilla Kulka. In 2004, she obtained her speciality in stage design diploma, supervised by Professor Krystyna Zachwatowicz-Wajda. She pursued postgraduate studies in interior design and design at the Faculty of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice from 2011 to 2012 and earned her PhD in 2017 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. Since that year, she has been employed by the Faculty of Architecture at the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice.

From 2004 to 2020, Kruczkowska-Król contributed as a production and costume designer to theatre productions, feature films, short films, music videos, commercials, educational films, and video art. She has participated in numerous personal (over 30) and group (over 270) exhibitions, often serving as a curator, in various countries including Poland, the USA, Ireland, England, Germany, France, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Italy, Japan, Russia, Ukraine, the Netherlands, Slovakia, Belgium, India, Switzerland, Albania, South Korea, Georgia, Jordan, Turkey, and others. Her involvement also extends to Mail-Art projects in Spain, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Austria, Argentina, Serbia, Kyrgyzstan, Finland, Chile, Brazil, and online projects in Australia, Nepal, China, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Bolivia, Egypt, and Nigeria.

She has received numerous awards in painting competitions and has been honoured with creative scholarships from the City of Krakow and the Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship. Kruczkowska-Król's work spans painting, scenography, unique fabric design, and artistic education. Her works are held in many state and private collections both domestically and internationally.
