Takanashi Miyuki born and raised in Hokkaido, where she spends more than five months of the year with snow, she is a female painter who still lives in Sapporo. The main motifs are people, familiar creatures and plants and forests. She is working on large works using the mixing technique of oil painting and tempera. She is fascinated by the life of living creatures and plants in the harsh natural environment and by the sparkle of life. One of the key themes is that humans are part of nature too.
